In fact, some of its elements may be even older the whole budy nek owes its current appearance to a 15th century reconstruction and the giving of a Flemish Renaissance form. However, some elements, such as the edging over the passage, indicate an older architectural style.

The gate survived World War II in much better condition than other buildings, which sometimes had to be rebuilt from scratch, so its current appearance is similar to the historical one, except that the originaloriginally decorated it with two turrets, now only one remains.

On ul. Chlebnicka, there is a magnificent tenement house called Domem English. It has as many as 8 floors, splendidly decorated bioned facade with four gables and an ornate turret. Ka mienica built in the second half of the 16th century on two adjacent properties, which is why it is so impressive in size. At first it was the dwelling of the merchant Dirk Lylgego, but after his bankruptcy, creditors took advantage of the kamienica for other purposes. The name is explained by the fact that its English merchants found their headquarters here (although some do not recognize this explanation and use the name “Angel House”). The tenement also served as an inn, and in the 19th century as a hotel. Nowadays it houses the Student House and the Department of Graphics of the Academy of Fine Arts.
