Z pasji do wody i tradycji

The Galar Foundation was established on January 30, 2018 in accordance with the professional activation of people with social exclusion (including the long-term unemployed, disabled and children from orphanages) and in the care of Polish culture, national heritage and promotion of the City of Gdańsk.
The main symbol of the Foundation, on which its basic activity is based, is Galar – an ancient, wooden, Vistula boat, which mainly in the 17th and 18th centuries influenced the waters of the Motława with all kinds of goods: coal, salt from Bochnia, soap, lime, grain and other necessary goods.

In August 2018, the Galar Foundation started providing cruise services in Gdańsk.

Mission

We are residents of the Tri-City who want to develop tourism and promote their region, educate and activate residents mainly on the basis of cruises, and create space for employment by people at risk of social exclusion. In our activities, we are guided by openness, partnership cooperation, creativity and social solidarity.

Statutory activity

Launching a series of professional internships. “Dry foot into adulthood” for children from orphanages, cleaning rivers and green areas with a boat; educational cruises for children, youth, seniors, families; cruises for children and young people with disabilities; providing a boat for talented youth from the Academy of Arts.
